King Kohli falls without much ado to an express delivery

Virat Kohli is bigger than a Bollywood star in every sense. One of the biggest crowd pullers in history of Indian cricket came in full throttle but, unfortunately, couldn’t conquer the Kotla with his breathtaking shots. The best in the business got out to the best ball of the Delhi versus Railways Ranji Trophy match on Day Two. That is what happens most often as the expectations are sky high.

The Railways men were all pumped up when Kohli came to the crease with a loud cheer from the stands. The rivals were bent on making life difficult for him from the word go.

Thanks to the SG Test red ball, Kohli was left hopping on the crease till that magical incoming ball happened and cart-wheeled the stumps. All the frenzy surrounding Kohli playing a Ranji Trophy game went up in smoke almost ensuring that he could come back and bat again in the second innings.

Even Indian coach Gautam Gambhir knows that. Kohli is a cult figure and this domestic match has proved it so. He knows that his time wasn’t right but he will make amends. Just that he needs to stand outside the crease to play the seam movement better. “I used to stand deep inside the crease to play the swing late rather than trying to play early,” Mohammad Azharuddin often says.
