India’s No. 1 wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is all set to make his return to international cricket during the upcoming India-West Indies Test series, starting October 2, sources told CricBlogger.
Pant, who picked up an injury during India’s tour of England earlier this year, has been recovering well and is said to be on track to regain full fitness in the next couple of weeks. Medical updates suggest he should be back on his feet within the next 15 days. The left-hander has also assured those close to him that he is confident of featuring in the two-match Test series against the Caribbean side.
Initially, there was talk of surgery to fix the issue, but doctors later decided against it after monitoring his rapid progress in rehabilitation. “He is recovering well and it shouldn’t be a problem anymore. He wants to come and play against the West Indies,” a source close to Pant confirmed.
Pant’s return is expected to provide India with a massive boost — both in terms of balance and impact. His ability to turn a game in a single session and his natural glovework make him an indispensable part of the red-ball setup.

Wonderful news! Should great watching Rishabh Pant on the field!
