Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to return as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for a second term, sources confirmed to CricBlogger. Ganguly, who previously held the post before taking over as BCCI president in 2019, is expected to bring his administrative experience and influential presence back to Bengal cricket.
Whether Ganguly’s return to the CAB presidency will be unanimous remains unclear. However, sources close to the former India captain have confirmed that he is set to take over from his elder brother, Snehasish Ganguly. Earlier attempts were made to bring Sourav back as CAB president, but those efforts did not materialize at that time.
With Ganguly taking an initiative to come and meet the members and in return the members too are appreciating his presence — his homecoming is expected to be a smooth one. “It’s a great news for Bengal cricket that Dada is back in CAB again,” a source added.
