Hours before the first ODI between hosts India and South Africa, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) found itself in an embarrassing situation after nearly 11 posters featuring Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren were displayed in and around the stadium. The posters were put up without necessary approvals, prompting the BCCI to step in and instruct the local association to remove them immediately.
Despite functioning as an autonomous body, JSCA is bound by BCCI regulations that strictly prohibit any form of political promotion or campaigning within cricketing venues. This guideline was clearly violated, sources told CricBlogger, leaving the state association red-faced just hours before the match. The incident has once again highlighted the delicate boundaries between sports administration and political influence, especially at high-profile international fixtures.
Sources revealed that the JSCA had put up the posters featuring Hemant Soren even in the MS Dhoni stand, and the matter came to the BCCI’s attention a day before Sunday’s ODI match. “Immediately, phone calls were made and the JSCA was instructed to take corrective action without delay,” the source added. The swift intervention ensured that the posters were removed before the gates opened for spectators, preventing the controversy from escalating further.

In my view , the persons. Involved in giving / granting access to the stands should be investigated and accordingly disciplinary proceedings started against the persons who have violated the rules
