Here is some good news for fans of Virat Kohli. Delhi’s very own King Kohli has confirmed his participation to play for the state team in the last league match of the Ranji season, sources told CricBlogger on Monday. Kohli will play for Delhi after 13 long years and that in itself is a celebration for all his fans.
Source also said that Kohli would join the Delhi Ranji team on January 28 for the nets as the last league match against the Railways gets underway from January 30.
With BCCI mounting pressure on seniors to play domestic cricket, even Kohli came under the radar. However, he wasn’t fit to take the field as he had suffered a freak neck injury but is expected to be okay in time of the Ranji match. Whether Kohli will lead or not is something he has to decide but DDCA would be more than happy to see him leading the team. If he doesn’t, he would be a de facto boss of the team.
It is also important to note that this red ball game and three-match ODI series against England are important for Kohli before he embarks on the Champions Trophy journey. With only a century from the Australian tour, all eyes will be on Kohli to show his true colours in front of his home crowd.
